If you plan to travel for gynecomastia surgery alone, and your procedure is being performed under general anesthesia, you will be required to stay at an overnight recovery facility for at least the first 24 hours following surgery. Our office will provide the necessary details about the recovery facility either at your consultation or when you confirm your surgery date.
Our office is located within an hour of 3 airports. The closest is John Wayne Airport (10 min) followed by Long Beach Airport (35 min) and finally Los Angeles International Airport (50 min). There are 3 additional airports you can look into if the others are not suitable for whatever reason. Burbank Airport (1 hr 15 min), San Diego International Airport (1 hr 30 min) and Ontario Airport (1 hr). John Wayne Airport is typically preferred due to its ideal location (just 10 minutes from our office).
When you travel for gynecomastia surgery, it is our goal to make sure your stay in Newport Beach/Los Angeles is the most enjoyable it can be.

For larger cases performed under general anesthesia, such as upper body lift or multiple procedures performed at the same time, we may require an overnight stay at a specialized facility. The two facilities listed below cater to post-operative cosmetic patients. You may click on each of them to research more. Your patient care coordinator will guide you through the process, so please don’t book anything until you speak to her.

There are many hotels near our office in Newport Beach as well as surrounding cities within 15 minutes: Costa Mesa, Irivine, Laguna Beach and Santa Ana. If you choose to stay in Los Angeles or another area, please discuss this with us in advance. One of our patient care coordinators will gladly help you coordinate your stay.
You can search for hotel options via popular hotel booking sites such as Expedia, Hotels.com, and Priceline, just to name a few.
Discuss your options with your patient coordinator. We are here to help this be as smooth as possible! Keep in mind, procedures done under general anesthesia require you to refrain from driving for at least 48 hours after surgery.
